EXCLUSIVE GPS system adds accuracy with ease
 
The 2250M/2250M-iD locators are now compatible with select GPS/GIS field mapping instruments for real-time mapping of marker placement. The customized Dynatel interface remotely commands the GPS/GIS device allowing even a generalist field technician to perform the real-time mapping. Exporting information directly into leading CAD and GIS systems creates an automated paperless system for records updating.
 
Several unique modes of operation for accurate locates in every situation
 
For cable or pipe locating, 2250M/2250M-iD locators have a highly accurate multi-antenna design for various user-selected locating modes—Directional Peak, Multi-Directional Null, plus an ultra-sensitive Special Peak mode for extreme depths.
3M™ Dynatel™ Cable/Pipe Locator 2250M and Cable/Pipe and Marker Locator 2250M-iD incorporate advanced electronics to quickly and efficiently trace the path of underground cables and pipes (with metallic tracer wire). They provide accurate cable/pipe, or Sonde depth measurements, giving a digital readout in inches, feet and inches, or centimeters (user-selectable). Lightweight, compact and well-balanced, these cable and pipe locators allow you to accurately and easily:
 
• Locate cable and pipe path
• Measure cable/pipe, or Sonde depth with the push of a button
• Display relative signal current in the cable or pipe
• Identify cable using toning
• Tone shorts and grounds in aerial cable
• Identify cable pairs through wet sections
• Locate energized power and CATV cable
Advanced features detect more information about underground utilities
 
A feature exclusive to the 3M™ Dynatel™ Cable/Pipe and Marker Locator 2250M-iD is the ability to write, read and lock programmed information into the 3M™ Electronic Marker System iD Ball Markers 1400 Series.
 
Information such as a pre-programmed unique identification number, facility data, owner information, application type, placement date and other details from up to 100 markers can all be stored with date/time stamp, and GPS coordinates*, and transmitted back to your PC through a standard RS232 serial port for enhanced resource management.
 
Designed to be more accurate, faster and more integrated, the new locators can perform these additional functions:
• Pinpoint the location and estimate the depth of all existing models of properly installed underground passive EMS markers
• Conduct direct depth reading of RFiD markers
• Locate two different marker frequencies simultaneously
• Trace a cable or pipe path while simultaneously finding buried markers along the way

3M™ Electronic Marker System (EMS) Full-Range Markers
 
The 3M™ Full-Range Marker provides an accurate, convenient, long-lasting method of marking underground facilities. Electronic marking saves time and money spent searching for buried facilities prior to excavation. The marker also acts as a digging shield over buried facilities, lessening the chances of damage. And, unlike surface markers such as stakes, flags or paint, the full-range marker cannot be inadvertently moved or worn away by weather.
 
The addition of the new 3M-iD markers provides additional functionality by enabling facility data to be stored in the marker. The pre-programmed unique serial number integrates with back office mapping and GIS systems when used for mapping new and legacy assets and points of special interest for construction and maintenance applications.
 
The full-range marker is buried over key facilities during construction or maintenance. Later, the marker is easily and accurately located using a 3M™ Dynatel™ Locator. The locator transmits a signal to the buried marker. The marker returns the signal to the locator, indicating the marker’s exact position, while the locator provides both a visual reading and an audible tone

Designed to be accurate, fast and integrated, the 1420-iD/1420E-iD EMS marker locators allow you to accurately and easily:
• Locate, read and write to 3M iD markers
• Pinpoint the depth and location of all existing models of properly installed underground passive EMS markers
• Conduct direct depth reading of markers
• Locate two different marker frequencies simultaneously

The 1420-iD/1420E-iD locators are unaffected by a metal conduit or pipe, metallic conductors, fences, AC power or electronic markers for other utilities. Multiple markers located at close proximity can be read individually using this system.

Find your underground facilities the first time
 
The 4" Ball Marker makes the job of precisely locating underground facilities easier and faster. Less time and skill are required from the field crew since placement is as simple as tossing the ball into the trench.
 
The unique self-leveling feature of the 4" Ball Marker eliminates inaccurate locates. Other buried markers can be disturbed by backfill dirt. or installed improperly, so that they don’t stay positioned correctly. This can cause locating problems due to erroneous readings.
 
The 4" ball marker’s self-leveling design insures that the marker is always in an accurate, horizontal position. regardless of how it is placed in the ground.
 
The 4" ball marker is buried directly over key underground locations. When the job requires access to the facility again, it can be located using an EMS II Marker Locator.
 
The locator consists of a compact electronics package and a lightweight hand-held probe. The locator transmits a signal to the buried marker. The marker reflects the signal back to the locator. and its exact location is indicated with both a visual meter reading and an audible tone. The marker has a range of up to five feet ( 1.5 m) from marker to locator.
 
The 4" ball marker’s width allows the marker to be placed in a standard 4” trench without additional digging. Unlike stakes, flags or paint, a 4" ball marker cannot be inadvertently removed, or worn away by weather.
 
3M™ Dyna-Couplers – 3", 4.5" and 6"
For use with all model 3M™ Dynatel™ Locators
 
3M now offers multiple Dyna-coupler accessory sizes to meet almost any locating need with the addition of the new 4.5" coupler to our current line of Dyna-couplers (including the 3" and 6"). 3M Dyna-couplers (all sizes) can be used on all models of 3M Dynatel Cable/Pipe Locators and permit coupling of RF trace tone to large diameter pipes, bundle cables and cables enclosed inaccessible non-metallic ducts.
